For the second week of our Facebook Official dating series we’re going to practically talk about biblical guidelines for dating. In fact this week YOU get to decide what we talk about. All students are going to be encouraged to write down a few questions they want answered about dating and they’ll be answered by our panel of relationships “experts.”

We believe that though the Bible doesn’t directly talk about dating that it does give us principles that we should be applying to our dating relationships.

Come find out what God expects of your dating relationships!

Here are your very important announcements for this week:

CIY Believe - Remember if you’re heading to CIY Believe that you need to have a note to get out of school early. You can’t get on the bus without a note from your parents! Did you register late and not get our packing list? Here it is.

2nd Annual Dating & Dodgeball - Next week in SM, February 22nd, we will be continuing our Facebook Official dating series at 6:30 pm. After service from 7:30-8:30 pm we will be playing dodgeball! Great week to bring a friend.

Theological Breakfast - Monday morning there is NO SCHOOL, so high school students come over to Ryne and Kate’s house to score some free breakfast and talk about the Bible. Breakfast is served at 9 am.

Facebook has changed the way we live our lives and it has definitely changed our relationships. Never before has there been such access to the lives of others around us. We can message them, ‘like’ what they’re doing, look at their pictures and check out their profile all from the comfort of our computer (or phone).

As Christ followers it’s important to have healthy relationships. In fact, our relationship with Jesus should impact our relationships with others.

This week we’ll be looking at healthy relationships in the form of: friendship, single, in a relationship and it’s complicated.

Join us to find out how you can establish healthy, God honoring, relationships in your life!

Facebook Official Series

This week we’re starting a new series called Facebook Official. In this series we’ll discuss how students following Christ should be conducting their dating lives. Over four weeks we’ll cover everything from relationships all the way to the topic of sex.

Check out what will be happening in the series:

Friend Request - We’re going to start the series looking at healthy relationships, both in friendship and dating. The common theme is that our relationship with Jesus impacts how we conduct relationships.

Relationship Status - The Bible may not speak directly to dating, but we do believe that there are Biblical guidelines that Christians should be following when it comes to dating. Come ask your questions directly to a panel of dating and marriage experts.*

Also, this week is our 2nd Annual Dating and Dodgeball. After our service we’ll be playing dodgeball from 7:30-8:30 PM!

It’s Complicated - In the third week we are going to directly talk about the issue of sex in dating. God created sex specifically for the relationship of marriage. Sex within marriage is an incredible blessing, but when used outside of marriage it can also bring great harm.

Refresh - Many have already messed up physically in relationships or just been a part of poor relationship. We want to end the series with a positive note, letting you know no matter what has happened in the past you can start healthy relationships now.

This is going to be a great series to bring your friends to. Bring as many people as you can as you learn about God’s intention for your dating life as a teenager.

Fun Element: We promoted our next series FB Official by playing a game with conversation hearts and showing the Facebook Official video.

Set List: No music this week, we shortened our service to show 58: The Film afterwards.

Favorite Moment: 1/3 of the students stayed after to watch the 58: documentary on poverty in our world. I hope their hearts were stirred to do something.

WEiRD Burden

For the final week of our WEiRD series we are going to be talking about having a weird burden. The definition of a burden is a “load”, it is the idea of carrying something. A burden bothers you, it worries you and you always think about it.

We believe that God gives us holy burdens in our lives. He makes us hate poverty, gives us passion to help people out of sexual sin, want to lead a Bible study or pray for a group of people. In each of us He has given unique passions and personalities that make us each have unique burdens.

Brook will be sharing the burdens that God has placed on her and how she has been reacting to those in her life.

Reminder: This week SM will be 6:30-7:15 PM. At 7:30 we will be showing a documentary about poverty in the world (a BIG burden) that will end at 8:45 PM. Please plan accordingly if you want to stay for the movie.
