The Point:  A prophet is a spokesperson for God.

The TXT:  Isaiah - Malachi

Fun Element:  We played Fire Hydrant, Dog, Truck as a paper, rock scissors type game. We also showed pictures of all the dodgeball teams from Sunday’s tournament.

Set List:  You Deserve, Prince of Peace, Open Hands

Favorite Moment:  We had one of our adult leaders teach and afterwards she was approached by a student who would never have come to me about issues she is facing.

Next Week:  The Book: Gospels

After our week off, we’re diving back into our series The Book and looking at the prophets section of the Bible. Today we don’t understand prophecy because it is not very common in our culture. A prophet was someone that spoke truth from God. Throughout the Bible God chose individuals to deliver His message to His people. 

Today God doesn’t need to use prophets in the same way, because all followers of Jesus have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit. This means we are to go out and tell the Good News about Jesus!
