Here are your very important announcements:

• TONIGHT we begin a new series called The Book. Over the course of 6 weeks we’re going to look at the story of the entire Bible.  

• Wednesday, November 16th will be pancake night at SM! Beginning at 5:30 pm we will be serving up FREE pancakes until we begin at 6:30 pm. Come early, bring a friend and scarf down some sweet breakfast food.

• Wednesday, November 23rd there is NO SM because of Thanksgiving!

• Sunday, November 27th there will be no Grow Groups, but there will be a Dodgeball Tournament at the SM Building! Plan on getting a team together, we’ll play 6:30-8 pm! Start thinking about your “uniforms” too!

The first five books of the Bible make up what is called The Law. The books are laced with the story of creation, man’s rejection of God, God’s relentless pursuit of His people and the guidelines (aka The Law) He gives them to live by.

Christianity is often viewed as a list of rules. Don’t do _____________. Don’t say _____________. Don’t be _____________. Don’t do anything. If you really begin to understand the relationship of God to His people you begin to see that God gives His people guidelines (or rules) to live by to protect them. He does not give them rules because He hates them, in fact Christianity is so much richer and deeper than just a list of rules. He used the Law as a way to re-establish a relationship with His people.

The Law was the beginning, the first covenant, that led to our coming Savior.
