Listen to Brook teach this week on WEiRD burdens.
For the final week of our WEiRD series we are going to be talking about having a weird burden. The definition of a burden is a “load”, it is the idea of carrying something. A burden bothers you, it worries you and you always think about it.
We believe that God gives us holy burdens in our lives. He makes us hate poverty, gives us passion to help people out of sexual sin, want to lead a Bible study or pray for a group of people. In each of us He has given unique passions and personalities that make us each have unique burdens.
Brook will be sharing the burdens that God has placed on her and how she has been reacting to those in her life.
Reminder: This week SM will be 6:30-7:15 PM. At 7:30 we will be showing a documentary about poverty in the world (a BIG burden) that will end at 8:45 PM. Please plan accordingly if you want to stay for the movie.
The Point: Live in a weird way that leads people to Jesus.
TXT: The life of John the Baptist.
Fun Element: Played Impossible Shot and had some Orange Races.
Set List: Marvelous Light, King of Majesty, Open Hands
Favorite Moment: Watching our student band really start to engage our students while leading worship.
Next week: WEiRD Wk. 5, Weird Burden
Listen to Ryne teach on sharing your faith in WEiRD: (NOT) TMI…
Here are your very important announcements:

If we are going to be weird, that means we need to boldly share what we believe. When we follow Jesus it changes us, it literally makes us a new person. That news is too good, too exciting to keep to ourselves. We have to share our faith!
The problem is, we live in a world that wants everyone to be right. No one wants to be offended or told their wrong. When we teach the words of Jesus, “No one comes to the Father except through me” then people get offended. They think it is an exclusive message. They think Christians see themselves as better than everyone else or right while everyone else is wrong. But the truth is, this message of hope that Jesus brings is for everyone. That’s why God calls us, even commands us, to share what we believe.
Being WEiRD means boldly telling people about Jesus.
The Point: Love your family and treat them well.
TXT: Exodus 2-4, Numbers 12
Fun Element: Played the Yes/No ”game” and a game called Bucket Head.
Set List: Sing Sing Sing, My Hope Is In You, How He Loves
Favorite Moment: Sharing a message that is so relevant to all of us. We have to be Jesus to our families!
Next Week: WEiRD Wk 4, (NOT) Too Much Information…
